Smaller Finishing Projects
Plastering and Painting - Finishings of sides block 1, 2 & 3
All three blocks have been painted to not only protect the buildings, but also to showcase a school with standards. Though we want to keep the school fees low, we still want to provide education with a good standard, and thus promoting the school. To keep expenses low, only the front was painted, yet for the protection of the buildings we want to paint the sides as well.
Will you help us plaster and paint ‘side by side’. For the last finishings of the three blocks, we need an additional € 950.
Finishings and Extension Kitchen for Dining room (and multi purpose area)
When the kitchen was build a couple of years ago, it was meant for it to have an extension, with a roof on poles and low walls, to function as a dining room for the students as well as a ‘meeting place’ . This was however never done and we would like to provide the school with that extension as well as plastering and painting the kitchen walls and providing the kitchen with doors, so it’s a finished project. As we are also working on getting a bakery, this area could provide the space for training girls jobs in the kitchen, such as baking and cooking and thus become a vocational teaching room. But when not being used for meal times or during lessons, this area would provide the boarders with a space to relax and be in the shade. And on Sundays we would open it up for services.
To do the extension and finishings we need € 2500.
To add tables and benches, we need another € 600.
The following people / organisations have gone before you: In 2018, De Laarmarkt (an annual flee market held in Zuidlaren, that sponsors various projects with the income of the items sold during the market) sponsored the building of the kitchen unit.
Fencing project
Through the years we have fenced part of the school and around the boys hostel, but need to finish the fencing around the whole compound. Now neighbours still cross the land, dogs come in and sometimes kill the chickens and goats eat the young trees, not allowing them to grow and bear fruit. Fencing the whole compound, not only gives protection to the students, but also to all living species on the compound.
With € 750 we can fence the back end of the school compound, closing up the entire area, so only those involved with the school have access to the school compound.
